Infrastructure contributions reform

The system of the Development Contributions Plan (‘DCP’) has been in operation for many years in Victoria. In 2012, the Minister for Planning appointed the Standing Advisory Committee to review and evaluate the DCP system. A series of recommendations were presented to State government for consideration.

On 27 October 2016 , an Infrastructure Contributions Plan (ICP) was introduced as the mechanism for imposing an infrastructure contribution in relation to the development of land. Continue reading “Infrastructure contributions reform”

Amendment VC148 – reforms to the Victoria Planning Provisions

Amendment VC148 – reforms to the Victoria Planning Provisions (VPP) was gazetted on 31 July 2018. VC148 implemented reforms to clarify, simplify and improve their structure, function and operation, and to remove unnecessary regulation.

VC148 has introduced the most significant change to the Victorian Planning Provisions since its creation in the 1990s. It also introduced a new integrated Planning Policy Framework (PPF) with state and regional planning policies combined into a single policy source. Minimum Garden Area Requirements – VCAT Decisions and State Guidelines
