A typical process for a residential and employment (commercial and industrial) land demand and supply assessment includes:
- Profiling demographic and economic outlooks of a given area;
- Reviewing projected population growth and historical housing and employment land consumption trends and growth;
- Modelling and forecasting the number of new dwellings and jobs (and job types) required to accommodate urban progression;
- Translating the projections into a “land” requirement. For employment land assessments, specific consideration will be given to building areas required to accommodate jobs.
