A typical process for a residential and employment (commercial and industrial) land demand and supply assessment includes:
Profiling demographic and economic outlooks of a given area.
Reviewing projected population growth and historical housing and employment land consumption trends and growth.
Modelling and forecasting the number of new dwellings and jobs (and job types) required to accommodate urban progression.
Translating the projections into a “land” requirement. For employment land assessments, specific consideration will be given to building areas required to accommodate jobs.
